Western Environmental was engaged to provide land contamination assessment and management services for a large-scale land development project in Perth’s southern corridor. Works included preliminary and detailed site investigations, remediation and close-out, requiring approval by an accredited Auditor under Section 31 of the Contaminated Sites Act 2003.
The site had been subject to historical market garden land use as well as asbestos impacts associated with material dumping. An innovative remedial strategy was deployed to reduce off-site disposal costs. All works were completed to the satisfaction of the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation-accredited Auditor and the environmental regulator.
